Türkiye – activity organized with ISSF

The Erasmus+ Sports Project WHEEL, a collaborative initiative between Romania, Spain, and Turkey, is dedicated to promoting eco-friendly and sustainable transportation through cycling. In this context, Gülveren Primary School, as a partner, has embarked on an exciting journey to encourage both students and parents to embrace bicycles as a cleaner and healthier mode of transport.

With the support of ISSF, we organized a series of engaging educational seminars for parents and students, focusing on the many benefits of cycling. These sessions covered topics such as the environmental advantages, health benefits, and essential maintenance skills for bicycles. Additionally, practical workshops were held to demonstrate basic bike repair techniques, tire removal, and adjustments, providing students with hands-on experience.

The schoolyard was transformed into a fun and interactive cycling course, where children had the opportunity to learn safe riding techniques and enjoy biking in a playful and secure environment. The initiative also sparked an exciting campaign to collect and refurbish old bicycles, which will be gifted to students who do not yet own one.

Our goal is to ensure that at least 10 bicycles are fully restored and distributed to children, enabling them to join the movement toward a greener and healthier future. Join us in this thrilling project as we promote sustainable transport and foster the joy of cycling among the next generation!

Riding a bike is nice…
We started to provide training to our students and parents so that bicycles, which are an environmentally friendly and sustainable means of transportation, are preferred more in our school. The training, which was prepared with the contributions of Erasmus+ Sport project WHEEL Project Partners and ISSF, first included seminars in the classroom for parents and students on the introduction of bicycles, their positive contributions to the environment, their benefits to our health, and bicycle repair and maintenance. Then, basic bicycle riding training and safe riding techniques were demonstrated to children in the schoolyard. Riding a bike on the track prepared in the schoolyard was an activity that the children enjoyed. Our current goal is to repair 10 bicycles and give them as gifts…#wheel #bicycle #erasmussport
